The show's creator/executive producer Josh Schwartz said, "After hearing the new Beck album, both Alexandra Patsavas (music supervisor) and I felt there were too many good songs to choose just one.
So instead we came up with the idea of a "Beckisode". We're really honored to be associated with one of the true and enduring artists in music today".
The beautifully upbeat Girl will be the second single released from Guero, on June 27 th. He'll also be making a string of UK live appearances in May and June (see
below). The live shows will come as good news to any of Beck's UK fans who didn't catch him at the secret show at the 700 capacity Islington Academy on March 14 th.
The album was released on March 21 st to much critical praise as The Sunday Times Style called it "the first great summer album of 2005", Time Out said it "never misses
a beat" and The Sun proclaimed it to be "another great from the genius".
Beck will fit in perfectly at Homelands with his history of musical ties with dance and hip hop. Most recently the limited edition version of Guero had new Beck tracks remixed by
Dizzee Rascal, Octet, Boards Of Canada and Royksopp. Joining Beck on the live stage at Homelands will be Roots Manuva, The Bravery, The Human League, Mylo and headliners The Streets.
